<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=5><STRONG>MEP releases new designations</STRONG></FONT></P>
DR. JOSEPHINE R. Domingo of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and engineer Wilmer S. Francisco of the College of Engineering have been appointed acting dean for instruction and acting director of the Information and Communication Training Center (ICTC), respectively, as contained in Special Order No. 06-021 issued by President Miriam E. Pascua on June 9.
Dr. Domingo holds the rank of assistant professor IV and handles development communication courses at CAF. She finished in 2000 her doctor of philosophy in development communication from the University of the Philippines in Los Baños under a PhilRice scholarship. She obtained her master’s degree in the same field from the same state institution in 1985 when she was still with the then Philippine Tobacco Research and Training Center, now National Tobacco Administration. She is a graduate of Liberal Arts-English, magna cum laude, from the Divine Word College of Laoag.
She entered the university on July 1, 1989 as science research specialist II. She started teaching on September 1, 1992. Prior to her present position, she was director of the defunct Information Services and Public Relations Office, chair of the department of development communication, and coordinator of the Regional Applied Communication Office of ILARRDEC.
Engineer Francisco, on the other hand, is a graduate of electronics and communications engineering from the Saint Louis University in Baguio City. He finished his master’s in education, major in physics, from MMSU. Holding an instructor II position, he entered the university on October 1, 1991. Prior to holding the directorship of the ICTC, he was network administrator of the center.
Domingo temporarily takes the place of Dr. Epifania O. Agustin, dean for instruction, who is currently on-leave for Italy. Meanwhile, Francisco takes over for the moment the post of engineer Edison A. Esteban who is currently pursuing a doctor’s degree at the Technological University of the Philippines.
