PRESIDENT Miriam E. Pascua in a memorandum issued June 28 reminded all faculty and non-teaching staff to observe at all times the dress code promulgated in Civil Service Commission (CSC) Resolution No. 002515.
According to the CSC resolution, employees should be dressed in appropriate business attire on days when there is no prescribed uniform. “Maong” pants, although generally prohibited, may be considered appropriate when paired with collared polo/shirt for male employees and any appropriate blouse/shirt for female employees.
The following are prohibited for all government employees when performing official functions inside the workplace: gauzy, transparent or net-like shirt or blouse; sando, strapless or spaghetti-strap blouse (unless worn as undershirt), tank-tops, or blouse with over-plunging neckline; micro-mini skirt, walking shorts, cycling shorts, leggings, tights, or jogging pants; and rubber sandals, rubber slippers, or “bakya”.
Ostentatiously displaying jewelry, except on special occasions and during official celebrations, and wearing heavy or theatrical make-up are, likewise, prohibited during office hours and within office premises.
Violations of said provisions, according to the president, shall be dealt with according to CSC rules and regulations.
