Graduate School<font style="font-weight: bold;" size="5">INSC to conduct nuclear awareness seminar</font>
THE ILOCOS Norte Science Community (INSC) will conduct a nuclear awareness seminar, Oct. 16-17, at the University Training Center.
This is in cooperation with the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) and the Metamedia Systems.
The seminar aims to provide an avenue for science educators to enhance their knowledge on the fundamental concepts of nuclear science and technology (S&T) as well as on research and development projects on the beneficial uses of nuclear science and technology in the Philippines.
Expected to participate in said seminar are 150 science teachers from the Department of Education and from state colleges and universities in Regions I, II, and CAR.
The said activity will be highlighted by enriching lecture-workshops, hands-on exercises, exhibits, and demonstration of PNRI-developed educational resource materials.
Topics during the seminar include: fundamental concepts about radiation and nuclear S&T, radiation safety and protection, R&D projects on the beneficial uses of nuclear S&T in the country, and nuclear services and PNRI information and education program on nuclear S&T.
A registration fee of P1,000 will be charged from each participant to cover food, seminar kits, and venue rentals.
