ILAARRDEC joins Halal Goat FIESTA

The Ilocos Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (ILAARRDEC) joined the first clustered Halal Goat FIESTA held at the University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao City with the goal of helping boost the Halal Goat industry.

Held last October 16-18, the Halal Goat Farmer-Industry Encounter through Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA) highlighted Halal Goat R&D activities of different participating consortia in response to the booming industry of halal goat production, processing, and related initiatives. The FIESTA was conceived to fast track the promotion and commercialization of regional science and technology-based products to adapters and markets nationwide.

The Cluster FIESTA is a new strategy of PCAARRD to promote and commercialize regional science and technology-based products among its potential adapters of the technology across the country.

The technology forum, which highlighted the affair, was dedicated to the goat raisers in the region so that they might increase awareness of the promise of halal goat production and improve their practices in goat raising.
