Graduates shine in chem tech, ECE, ECT exams

Graduates from the MMSU College of Engineering (COE) showed remarkable performances anew in the three licensure examinations administered by the Professional Regulation Commission this October.

These are the Chemical Technician (CT), Electronics Engineer (ECE), and Electronics Technician (ECT) licensure examinations.

In the test for CTs, 58 out of 64 takers passed, yielding an institutional passing rate of 90.63 percent as against the 81.09 percent national average.

The passers were first timers and were among the 2,298 new registered chemical technicians out of the 2,834 examinees.

In 2018, MMSU produced 33 new chemical technicians who posted a whopping 100 percent passing rate in the same examination.

Meanwhile, 17 out of 28 examinees passed the ECE licensure examination, yielding an institutional passing rate of 60.71 percent as against the 49.43 percent national success rate. Of these passers, 12 were first-time takers while five were repeaters.

Also, 16 out of 18 takers hurdled the ECT licensure examination, producing an overall performance rating of 88.89 percent, higher than the national average which is 68.58 percent. These successful examinees took the test for the first time.

These passers were among the 2,460 new ECEs and 2,589 new ECTs in the country.

In April, MMSU posted overall passing rates of 37.14 percent and 94.44 percent in the ECE and ECT licensure exams, respectively.
