IN CELEBRATION of the Arbor Month in July, forestry students and their teachers conducted a half-day tree-planting activity July 13 at the MMSU Forest Reserve at Brgy. Lubbot, City of Batac.

Assorted forest tree seedlings totaling 320 were planted along the creek and open areas in the place:  bangkal – 100; dao – 100; piling litan – 100; and sakat – 20.

The group also assessed the growth and survival of the tree seedlings they, likewise, planted in the same area last year and found that these are already about one meter high and with survival rate of 90 percent.
