A LABORATORY Elementary School (LES) pupil in Laoag City has been named Most Outstanding Athlete in Gymnastics by besting other players from Regions I, II, III, and CAR in the 2007 Milo Little Olympics held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen, Pangasinan and at the CSI City Mall in Dagupan City.

Merville P. Batara, Grade VI, garnered three gold medals in hoop, ball, and ribbon categories and two gold medals in the individual-all-around and team categories.  Because of this feat, MMSU LES ranked third top school in the elementary division.

Batara received her plaque of recognition and educational assistance of P5,000 in ceremonies held at the leisure Coast Resort in Dagupan City, Oct. 11.  As top three, LES also received P10,000.

Jally Ann S. Guillermo served as Batara’s coach.
