Electrical eng’g licensure exam MMSU scores 93%; grad stays at no. 17
THIRTEEN of fourteen examinees recently passed the electrical engineer licensure examination given in Manila by the Professional Regulation Commission, Sept. 17-20.
The graduates’ performance marked a 93 percent passing rate for MMSU and made it as second top performing electrical engineering school (with 10-25 examinees) in the entire country. It tied with Mindanao State University in Marawi City. The University of Batangas and the University of the Philippines in Los Baños occupied the top rank, each recording 100 percent passing.
Harold G. Malate, a 2005 graduate, occupied the 17th place in the list of top 20 passers.
Only 45 percent of the examinees from all over the country passed the said examination.
The other passers were: Deny Y. Abad, Rolante Loretto C. Balbas, Joseph R. Bolusan, John Colcol, Emiemar P. Domingo, Frank Joey M. Fernadez, Eric Louis P. Gallegos, Heldervert C. Garma, Heinrich F. Gudoy, Alan Joy U. Pilar, Rhodel L. Ragpa, and Daniel S. Tiongson.
Aside from Fernandez and Gallegos, all passers, including a certain Heribert P. Ventura who was not included in the list of new electrical engineers, also passed the test for master electrician.
Although registering a passing rate 11.18 percent lower than this year’s record, last year’s takers marked a relatively high passing figure of 81.82 percent. Arnold G. Laforga also landed 18th place in said examination.
