ELDEFONSO Balino Natividad Jr., a secondary education student majoring in mathematics at the College of Teacher Education (CTE), was chosen as one of the 75 delegates to the 9th National Ayala Youth Leaders Congress 2007, Feb. 6-10, at the San Miguel Corporation Management Training Center in Alfonso, Cavite.
Of the 492 nominees from 103 schools nationwide, he was selected as one of the 150 candidates who forwarded to the interview phase in November 2006 in Makati City with some Ayala Corporation executives as panelists.
The expense-free congress is sponsored by the Ayala Corporation and the Ayala Foundation chaired and owned, respectively, by Jaime Augusto Zobel Ayala II.
Earlier, Natividad was among 50 applicants from the college who went through series of interviews and rigid evaluation of documents by a committee chaired by Dr. Eliza T. Samson, chief of the Office of Student Services and Development’s guidance program. He was later selected as one of the top ten aspirants who represented the university to next level screenings.
Natividad is the sub-treasurer of CTE’s Student Council and volunteer of the Commission on Social Action of the Diocese of Laoag.
He is the only representative of Ilocos Norte and Region I to the national congress.
It was the first time for CTE to apply for the said youth leaders’ congress.
