DR. CANDELARIA D. Garo, CTE secretary, has been invited by Asia Intel Education as one of three representatives from the Philippines to the Asia Senior Trainers Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 9-13.

The conference is an annual event organized to bring together senior trainer-representatives from all countries in the region participating in the Intel Teach Program. It is a forum created to provide the participants updates on the Intel Teach curriculum as well as allow sharing of best practices among them.

Intel Corporation will pay for all her transportation costs as well as for her lodging and food costs while attending the event.

Garo is a pilot faculty of Intel Education who was trained in 2002 to implement the program.  She handles subjects in educational technology and strategies of teaching at CTE.  It is in these subjects where she integrates computer applications needed in teaching.

In 2005, Asia Intel Education made an impact assessment on its programs and recognized MMSU as the second most active implementer of the Intel Teach curriculum in the country.
