<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=5><STRONG>CTE professor is Outstanding Laoagueño</STRONG></FONT></P>

DR. MARY Lou F. Aurelio, professor VI of the College of Teacher Education and of the Graduate School, was recognized as one of the 2006 Outstanding Laoagueños during the 2007 Pamulinawen Festival, Feb. 12 at the City’s auditorium.

She was chosen for her remarkable accomplishments and significant contributions in the field of culture and the arts, for upholding time-honored values and traditions, and for displaying enviable sensitivity to relevant issues.

She has been contributing to the attainment of the goals of her community, her sector, and of the country particularly in the music performance arts, music education, and music research.  She has also presented her art in local, regional, national, and international arenas; have extended consultancies; rendered extension services; and published her works in local and national papers and journals.

Dr. Aurelio obtained her Bachelor of Music and Teacher’s Diploma in Music from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

At present, she is assistant secretary of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and executive council member of the National Committee on Cultural Education.
