<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=5><STRONG>Completed projects reach P4.5M</STRONG></FONT></P>
PHYSICAL Plant and General Services Division Director Romeo R. Duldulao reported during the regular administrative council meeting last June 15 the completion of 25 various university projects amounting to P4,561,046.86.
The biggest-funded among these projects was the rehabilitation of the circular road which amounted to P1,305,700. This involved the concreting of the western and eastern portions of the said road going to the University Main Library and to the Continuing Education Training Center.
For years, this was tagged by students as “abortion” road.
The next biggest project reaching P661,473.20 went to the College of Health Sciences for the provision of non-slip rubber flooring at the treatment room and work-out of the physical therapy building and for the partitioning of the Mangasep building for use as classrooms by nursing students.
The third biggest project involved the improvement of the experimental station of the research unit of the university and the rehabilitation of canal along the Batac-Paoay road. These projects intended for the said unit of MMSU cost P627,203.64.
The repair of ceiling of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences building and the provision of facilities for a multi-media center also cost the university P522, 867.06.
A total of P455,919.18 further went for the expansion of the university’s cafeteria and the provision of window screen in the area as well as some termite control works and repair of a housing unit.
Other completed projects as of June this year include: repair of ceiling eaves, provision of accordion door, partitioning of typing room, provision of canal infront of Building I and concrete pavement at the parking area, and repair of Building II – all at the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy which amounted to P340,527; termite control works at the administration building and academic buildings, finishing works at the administration and science building, provision of mezzanine floor at the electronics technology shop, and improvement of Room 201 and food technology shop – College of Industrial Technology (P319,675); and partitioning of kindergarten room and termite control works at the social hall – College of Teacher Education (P165,051.19).
According Duldulao, the mentioned projects were done by “pakyaw” labor and by administration and funds were taken from Fund 164 where tuition fee of students are kept.
