<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=4><STRONG>Chinese teachers here for English competency course</STRONG></FONT></P>

COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION -- Eleven teachers from Laibin City in China have arrived at MMSU, particularly at the College of Teacher Education (CTE), for a 25-day English training course which started yesterday, July 17.

Qin Jian, Chen Maisheng, Liu Weixiu, Zhang Min, Zsang Wenqing, Li Xiaoping, Huang Jinghe, Huang Cifang, Liang Jianyan, Deng Haiqing, and Tan Liying are elementary teachers sent by the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs by the said city to train on English competency.  The sending of these teachers is part of the sisterhood agreement between the cities of Laibin and Laoag. A group of teachers from Laoag City will also go for training in Laibin as part of the exchange program of the two places.

A committee from CTE has prepared a special curriculum for the group composed of four males and seven females whose ages range from 31 to 41.  Professors Shirley Mina and Carmenchita Coloma will handle the subjects for them.
