<FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=5><P align=left><STRONG>CAS faculty on visiting scholarship in Japan university</STRONG></P></FONT>
DR. SHIRLEY C. Agrupis, associate professor of the College of Arts and Sciences and former director of the University Manpower Development Program, is currently at the Kyoto University International Innovation Center (IIC) in Japan as a visiting research scholar. She left the university May 1 and will be in Japan until Sept. 30 this year.
The sending of Dr. Agrupis to the IIC of Kyoto University serves as an opportunity for her personal advancement. It is, likewise, a chance for MMSU to stablish linkage with the National University Corporation in Japan for academic, research, and technology excellence.
As visiting research scholar, Dr. Agrupis will concentrate efforts to the work assignments given by the IIC-Kyoto University particularly on research promotion of Japan Southeast Asia Industrial Alliance and Partnership and other relevant research programs. She will also help IIC in the organization, management, and implementation of its programs and activities.
Upon her return, Dr. Agrupis is expected to share not only to MMSU but also to the whole region her gained expertise and knowledge useful in the promotion of science, research, and technology and to introduce to the university linkages for research, instruction, and technology promotion.
