4 programs pass AACCUP accreditation

One undergraduate and three graduate degrees passed their respective accreditation levels after a survey visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on August 26-30.

 

AACCUP President Manuel T. Corpuz confirmed this result through a report furnished by the agency's Technical Review and Board Action to the University last October 15.

 

The programs that passed Level IV Phase I are BS in Biology, MA/Master in Education, MA/Master in Public Administration, and Doctor of Education major in Educational Management.

 

The AACCUP accreditors evaluated the programs based on 10 areas: the university's vision, mission, goals and objectives; faculty; curriculum and instruction; support to students; research; extension and community involvement; library; physical plant and facilities; laboratories; and administration. To pass Level IV Phase I, programs should meet or exceed the minimum grand mean of 4.5 and minimum area mean of 4. 

 

The four MMSU programs passed the required criteria. The validity period of the programs that passed the said level is from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020.

 

The members of the  AACCUP accrediting team who conducted the visit in August was led by Dr. Loreta R. Galima (overall coordinator. Other members were are composed of Dr. Danilo S. Hilario, Dr. Celerino S. Palacio, Dr. Ian M. Francisco, Dr. Nestor Z. Rondina, Dr. Dennis B. Legazpi, Dr. Mario M. Abesamis, Jr., Dr. Yolanda B. Viloria, Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, and Prof. Enrico R. Rivano.

 

Likewise, 11 programs passed the AACCUP survey visit last March and April. Eight of which passed Level IV Phase I - MA in Nursing, BS in Economics, BS in Accountancy, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, BS in Nursing, and BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering; while four hurdled Level II - BS in Business Administration major in Human Resource Development Management and Marketing Management, BS in Hospitality Management, BS Pharmacy, and BS Physical Therapy.
