10,191 enrolled in 1st semester

A total of 10,191 students were enrolled in all levels this first semester, academic year 2019-2020, an increase of 8.2 percent from the previous 9,359 enrollees in first semester of last year.

 

Of this number, 8,665 are in the undergraduate degree programs; 577 in the advanced or graduate studies; 66 in short-term programs; and 460 in secondary, 311 in elementary, and 112 in pre-school levels.

 

Of the 8,665 enrollees of undergraduate courses, 3,930 are first year; 3,054 are second year, 249 are third year, 566 are fourth year, and 866 are fifth year.

 

The COE had the highest number of enrollees with 2,218 students, followed by the CBEA with 1,414 students.

 

Other colleges with their corresponding number of enrollees are CAFSD, 1,178; CTE, 1,172; CIT, 925; CHS, 720; CAS, 714; COM, 102; and COL, 50. While five colleges have increased their enrollees this year, the COL maintained its number of enrollees, and the CIT which posted a 0.5 percent decrease from its 925 students last year.

 

Meanwhile, the 441 enrollees in the Graduate School last year now increased to 557, while takers of the short-term programs this year went down from 97 to 67.

 

With a total of 375 students last year, the laboratory elementary school now has 311 students, 69 of which are in Batac campus and 242 in Laoag campus. Enrollees in laboratory high school in both campuses also went down from 482 to 460 --  174 of them are in Batac and 286 in Laoag campus.

 

Also, the university's pre-school department in Laoag City has recorded a total of 112 enrollees this year.
