PCL Ilocos Norte, MMSU forge partnership to strengthen policy studies
By Criztalene Victorio
To strengthen policy studies and economic research, the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) forged a partnership with the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Ilocos Norte Federation through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on October 21.
Leveraging MMSU’s expertise in economics, law, and public policy, the partnership is seen to open more opportunities for students, faculty members, and administrators to participate in forums, lectures, workshops, and academic discussions on relevant policy and economic issues.
The agreement brought together the Department of Economics of the MMSU College of Business, Economics and Accountancy (CBEA) together with the PCL- Ilocos Norte officials, fostering support in collaborative research, technical training, and extension services through capacity-building and technical consultancy services.
MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr., together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Aris Cajigal and PCL-Ilocos Norte President Kichel Jomarie Pungtilan signed the memorandum.
In his message, Dr. Manzano emphasized this partnership will strengthen its commitment in instruction and research providing additional supported initiatives and services from PCL-Ilocos Norte.
CBEA OIC-Dean Emil James Tanagon, faculty members and other PCL- Ilocos Norte officials also supported the MOA signing ceremony.
