MMSU, Thailand-based university forge partnership on sustainability, research

Intending to expand collaboration in education, research, and sustainable development, Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) and Mahidol University's Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies in Thailand formalized their intent to strengthen academic cooperation through a Letter of Intent (LOI) 

Held virtually on July 20 at the Center for Flexible Learning, the agreement expresses both institutions' commitment to establishing collaborative relations that will promote academic exchange and community engagement.

The collaboration between the two universities aligns with University President Dr. Virgilio Juluis P. Manzano Jr.’s SUCCEED agenda, particularly Universal quality education and Catalytic and impact-driven research and innovation ecosystem.

Under the proposed partnership, MMSU and Mahidol University will explore initiatives such as international lectures, seminars, certificate and degree programs, joint research projects, conferences, faculty and student exchanges, curriculum development, scholarly publications, internships, and community immersion programs. 

Specific projects and activities under the partnership will be developed through separate agreements upon mutual consultation and approval by both institutions. 

The Letter of Intent designates Dr. Arlene L. Gonzales, Director of the Sustainability and Futures Thinking Office, and Prof. Jeannet G. Dials, Director of the Office of External Linkages and Partnerships, as MMSU's contact persons for future coordination with Mahidol University. 

The initiative forms part of MMSU's continuing efforts to expand its international partnerships and create more opportunities for academic excellence and sustainable development through global collaboration.
