Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano hosted a dynamic discussion with the different unit representatives of the university during the Day with the President last July 15 at the Center for Flexible Learning.

The assembly brought together 121 in-person attendees and 159 faculty and staff participating virtually, which was organized to directly engage the university’s internal stakeholders, serving as an open dialogue platform for teaching and non-teaching personnel to air ideas and questions, and to align their daily efforts with MMSU’s ultimate goal to be a premier university in Southeast Asia by 2033

Framed under the SUCCEED Agenda, the meeting emphasized the importance of having a dynamic and holistic workforce, making the gathering even more valuable by empowering the skeletal operations of the institution.

“I think we are doing our best to stand with our vision, and so far, we are moving in the right direction because everyone is striving to shine, and everyone is trying to contribute,” said PJM during his message before engaging with the workforce.

Representing Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Mee Jay Domingo, Dr. Sherlyn Nicolas, the university’s Director for Planning, put a premium on the workforce’s pivotal role as the primary builders of the SUCCEED Agenda.

“The SUCCEED Agenda is just a blueprint. But a blueprint is just a paper without its builders. We, the faculty and staff, are the builders who turn this vision into reality,” Dr. Nicolas said as she set the tone for the discussions.

As the university rapidly grows and expands, this event helped prepare the university for a smoother, more efficient way of working, ensuring that the workforce is updated to keep pace with the growth set for reaching its big-picture goals.
