MMSU, AppliedHE host mentoring webinar for Philippine HEIs
By Ian Paul Villanueva
To encourage more Philippine universities to participate in international rankings, Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) and international university ranking agency AppliedHE co-organized AppliedHE Xchange, a mentoring webinar for Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) on June 30, 2026.
Bearing the theme, “Helping Philippine Universities Strengthen Visibility, Employability and Institutional Outcomes,” the webinar introduced AppliedHE’s methodology in its Public and Private University Rankings for ASEAN and ALL ASIA 2027 to about 90 participants from various Philippine institutions.
The Singapore-based university ranking body, led by its CEO Ms. Mandy Mok, also introduced the participating institutions to its alumni and internationalization digital services called the 3M Performance Improvement Consulting Project.
As co-organizer, MMSU coordinated with other Philippine institutions and led the flow of the program. Prof. Jeanette Dials, Director of the MMSU Internationalization, Linkages, and Partnerships Office, served as moderator during the event.
Prof. Dials explained that the webinar served “to support other HEIs so that they too can apply for international rankings, strengthen their quality assurance, and enhance their global visibility.”
MMSU first joined AppliedHE’s ASEAN public university rankings in 2024, where it ranked 43rd in Southeast Asia and 2nd in the country.
