PJM unveils new MMSU vision

University President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. formally unveiled the university’s new vision, mission, educational philosophy, and core values, approved through BOR Resolution No. 80, s. 2025, during the event titled “The 8th MMSU Administration: The First 8 Months of the SUCCEED Vision in Action.”
These guiding principles are designed to align and strengthen the university’s priority programs under the SUCCEED agenda of the Manzano administration.
With the launch of the new university vision, “A Premier University in Southeast Asia by 2033,” the event held on October 28 at the Center for Flexible Learning (CFL) officially introduced the institution’s renewed vision and mission. These will serve as the foundation for major initiatives to be implemented under the leadership of President Manzano, Jr. The event also featured the unveiling of the new university core values, WISER- Wisdom, Innovation, Stewardship, Excellence, and Resilience.
Meanwhile, the university’s mission is to develop virtuous, future-ready individuals and to create innovative solutions for sustainable communities. Its educational philosophy centers on cultivating minds and transforming futures through inclusive, quality-assured, and globally relevant education.
Said event, attended by members of the MMSU Board of Regents, the Administrative Council, former university officials, unit heads, and Student Council officers also introduced several institutional initiatives, including the 2025 Revision of the University Code, the redesigned MMSU website, the MMSU All-in-One System (MAiOS), a ceremonial MOA signing between the university and new incubatees, displaying their e-signature as a feature of the new system, the Science and Technology Journal, the updated MMSU Code of Conduct and Discipline, and the Internationalization magazine of the Internationalization, Linkages and Partnerships Office.
In her written message, CHED Chair and 7th MMSU President Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis extended her heartfelt congratulations on PJM’s dedicated service and leadership at MMSU, emphasizing the commission’s steadfast support to the administration’s goals and aspirations.
President Manzano said that his first eight months define the altitude of MMSU’s next 4 years, stating that if the climb is steady and strong, the journey ahead will be smooth and inspiring. He further stated that his leadership aspires for continuity of growth, and infinite potential, aligned with the university’s mission of creating opportunities, overcoming challenges, and sustaining institutional progress.
“That impossible notion is our challenge. The fear of not attaining the vision is our motivation to realize it. As long as we align all of our efforts together, we can make this vision a reality,” PJM said.
Former MMSU President Santiago Obien, who also graced the occasion, commended the unified efforts of the entire university community in forwarding its initiatives and programs for internationalization, adding that its vision of becoming a premier university in Southeast Asia by 2033 is possible.
The program also marked the second book launch of the MMSU Press, which introduced seven new titles authored by faculty members. In the same event, President Manzano also introduced eight newly established MMSU clubs aimed at supporting the administration’s vision, goals, and strategic agenda.
The official launch was followed by the blessing of eight newly completed and refurbished facilities and groundbreaking of upcoming infrastructure projects within the university. (𝘔𝘔𝘝)
