MMSU trains faculty on virtual learning tool

Faculty members of the Mariano Marcos State University undertake a whole-day training for the use of the MMSU Virtual Learning Environment (MVLE), an online platform for instruction designed by the university Information and Technology Center (ITC).

Today, 65 faculty undergo the training at the University Library, City of Batac and at the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), Laoag City.

Four simultaneous training sessions are being facilitated by the ITC and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Engineering (COE) and CIT.

All faculty members who have not yet attended such training are required to attend their scheduled session any day from today to Friday (May 11 – 15).

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis stressed that “the capacity-building activity is one step to forward MMSU to becoming premier in virtual learning.”

Prof. Wilben Christie Pagtaconan, ITC director, guarantees that the protocols by the Department of Health (DOH), like wearing of face masks and social distancing, are to be strictly observed during the training.

MMSU has started rolling out the works for the establishment of the MVLE and Training Center (MVLETC) on the second floor of the University Library.
