2 MMSU profs receive BSU-CVM Young Veterinarian Achiever Award

Two faculty members of Mariano Marcos State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MMSU-CVM) were recognized for their remarkable achievements and service in the field of veterinary medicine research, education, and community engagement, reflecting professional excellence and commitment to uplifting communities.
Dr. Jovelyn Lampac and Dr. Mark Stephen Ballog were both awarded the Young Veterinarian Achiever Award during the 6th Alumni Homecoming and Awarding Ceremony of the Benguet State University College of Veterinary Medicine (BSU-CVM) held on December 12, 2025, at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City.
Dr. Lampac, a member of BSU-CVM Class of 2009, was honored for her outstanding contributions to veterinary medicine, public health, teaching, and research. Her years of dedicated service in the academe, combined with her active participation in local and national trainings, seminars, and conferences on biosafety, biosecurity, One Health, and antimicrobial resistance, underscore her firm commitment to advancing veterinary education and public health advocacy. Through her instruction, research initiatives, and community-based extension activities, Dr. Lampac has played a vital role in shaping future veterinarians and promoting responsible animal and human health practices. Her passion, professionalism, and integrity continue to serve as a source of inspiration to young and aspiring veterinarians.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ballog, a BSU-CVM Class of 2012 graduate, received the same recognition for his exceptional accomplishments in veterinary education, clinical practice, and research. As the proprietor of a companion animal clinic, he consistently upholds the highest standards of veterinary care, particularly in diagnostics and surgical procedures. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ballog has produced award-winning research in native pig genetics, parasitology, and animal health, contributions that significantly advance scientific knowledge and support the improvement of livestock production and animal welfare. His dedication to both academic and practical aspects of veterinary medicine exemplify balanced excellence in the profession.
