Adding color to this year’s City of Batac fiesta, cultural performances of Mariano Marcos State University took the centerstage at the Imelda Cultural Center on December 16.
Themed #FiestaLugading, the MMSU Night 2022: Panagyaman ken Panagrambak showcased the Banda a panagrambak (musical performance), Ad-addang ken lunglung-ay (folk dance), Teatro ti biag (theater play), Aweng ken kurengreng (performing arts), and Contemporario a gargaraw (modern dances).
It also presented the MMSU contenders for the regional Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges culture and arts festival 2022, and the winners of Mr. and Ms. Inter-High 2022: Dwayne Lance Rigonan and Hannah Venice Tagoc of Laboratory High School - Batac.
MMSU Center for Human Movement Studies Director Rowell Tagatac said the yearly tradition of showcasing MMSU talents is one way of showing gratitude to the city government’s constant support to the university.
University President Shirley C. Agrupis said, “We signify our solidarity with the city government through our participation in the city fiesta."
Batac Mayor Albert Chua lauded the university for sustaining its 18-year supremacy in the regional culture and arts festival. “This only shows that MMSU has effectively disciplined and honed the talents of its students,” he remarked.
“The best of its talents is a shining example of what MMSU is all about. We also take pride on the achievements of the university,” said city vice mayor Windell Chua. (HLY/JVBT/DPTJ, StratCom)
