Human resource management students from MMSU bagged multiple awards in both academic and non-academic tilts during the 20th Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) National Convention and 5th JPMAP Awards on October 26-27 at Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central, Binondo, Manila.

The MMSU team clinched championship titles in multiple categories: HR Program Design, Promotional Video, and Spoken Poetry. The winning teams comprised of Arabella Benigno, Nika Hermano, Jenny Garcia, and Martin Melryngem Lucas for the HR Program Design; Trish Denielle Tunay, Jekyle Sera, Jasmine Mei Basamot, Mary Jane Guimyen, Nicole Ashley Balbalosa, Pearl Ivy Margarette Gonzales, and Ivy Dianne Franco for the Promotional Video; and Mary Jane Guimayen for Spoken Poetry.

Ms. Garcia, member of the HR Program Design team, expressed her gratitude for the support and preparation provided by the faculty. “Our late-night reviews and lack of sleep to prepare for the competitions truly paid off. We were fortunate to secure victories. Despite feeling anxious and overwhelmed before each competition, the support from our advisers and teammates kept us going.”

MMSU also excelled in various categories. Cyvil Viernes, Trish Denielle Tunay, and Kaezle Damo placed 1st runner-up in the quiz bowl; Rhea A. Failogna, Mary Jane Guimayen, and Ivy Dianne Franco ranked 2nd runner-up in case analysis; and Carmeliza Asuncion won 2nd runner-up in the essay writing contest.

Furthermore, Alfredo Guttierez won first place and Jacquelyn Ampania placed 1st runner-up in the 2024 Search for JPMAP Ambassador. Additionally, Rhea Failogna was recognized as the Most Outstanding Member School Officer and Arabella Benigno as the National Convention Most Active Delegate.

The MMSU students were guided by their coaching team, including Dr. Margarita Hilario, Prof. Don McCartney Tugaoen, Prof. Krismary Sharmaine Yapo, Ms. Sarah Jane Inay, Ms. Kristina Tugaoen, and Mr. Jerson Coloma.

Ms. Tugaoen, JPMAP-MMSU Chapter adviser, shared her pride in the students’ accomplishments: “Our students’ rigorous preparation and dedication were evident with each award announcement. I couldn’t be prouder that we brought home multiple victories. This achievement reflects both the students’ hard work and our collective commitment to their success,” she expressed.

With the theme “Reaching Zenith: Sustaining Momentum in Navigating the Changing HR Landscape,” the annual JPMAP convention is a platform for students nationwide to work jointly, exchange ideas, and contribute to the evolving field of human resource management.”
