Med students give aid to healthcare workers
By DANIEL P. TAPAOAN, JR.
Students of the MMSU College of Medicine (COM) launched the ‘Oplan Saranay’ project, a donation drive which aims to provide assistance to the personnel of the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH-MC).
Bryan Budol, president of the college’s Medical Students Association (MSA), said they are accepting donations, monetary or in kind, that can help the healthcare workers.
He added that the association intends to give the front-liners face masks, alcohol, gloves, face shields, googles, packed meals, and disposable gowns.
“This is for the protection of those who protect us from the dreaded plague that relentlessly challenge both our health and humanity,” he said.
As of press time, the MSA has already donated 100 pieces of waterproof face masks to the MMMH-MC. Some of the medical students have also pledged some money for this initiative.
The MSA is still accepting donations. Donors may contact the COM student organization at 09178613731 or thru its Facebook page: @mmsuCoMMSA. (StratCom)
