MELECIO L. Alonzo has added another feather in the cap of the university after emerging ninth place in the licensure examination for electrical engineers given in Manila this September.
Alonzo is from Brgy. 24, Paoay, Ilocos Norte and one of the 13 graduates of the electrical engineering program of MMSU in April this year.
This is the fourth consecutive year that graduates of the program have been topping the test. Last year, Harold Malate placed 16th in the licensure examination. In 2004, Arnold Laforga finished at 18th place. Richard Rivera occupied the 14th position in 2003.
Alonzo and five other graduates registered a 44 percent passing record for MMSU – slightly higher by 3.04 percent than the national passing record of 41.04 percent.
The other newly registered electrical engineers are: Reginald D. de Guzman, Louel V. Pedralvez, Ebtisham Kitchie B. Pedro, Arsenio G. Agcaoili Jr., and Dennis T. Agnir. Aside from Pedro, the rest of the passers are members of Class 2006.
De Guzman and Pedro, along with Sherwin D. Niñalga, Jennifer B. Pablo, and Rey G. Sunio, likewise, passed the master electrician examination.
