MMSU is 5th best PT school in PH for 2019

The MMSU College of Health Sciences (CHS) was recognized by the Local Pulse (LP) anew as the number five best physical therapy (PT) school in the Philippines for 2019.

 

The university got an overall score of 74.84 percent based on the overall board examination performance (70%) and other criteria (30%) set by the reputable website.

 

The LP took the weighted passing rates of the PT examinations held in February and August this year, and number of and top-performing examinees which comprise the overall performance of the school in the test. Other criteria for the rankingare the accreditation status and faculty-student ratio.

 

In the two examinations, MMSU had 94 takers and 76 passers. The university's PT program was accredited Level II, and its department has 14 students per faculty. The university also landed third in the list of top-performing schools in the February 2019 PT licensure examination.

 

"For the school to qualify in the list of rankings, it should have 40 or more examinees in a year and with at least an 80 percent weighted passing rate in the test," the LP wrote.

 

Ten schools made it to the rankings of the LP. Aside from MMSU, other top-performing PT schools in the country for 2019 were the University of Santo Tomas, 89.63 percent; De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute, 85.75 percent; Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 79.50 percent; University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, 77.25 percent; Silliman University, 73.89 percent; Cebu Doctors' University, 72.84 percent; University of the Philippines-Manila, 69.55 percent; San Pedro College-Davao City, 66.32 percent; and Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, 64.95 percent.
