<P><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=4><STRONG>MMSU hires 31 teachers</STRONG></FONT></P>
THIRTY-ONE teachers have been hired by the university to handle various disciplines starting this first semester, SY 2006-2007. They were given contractual appointment.
Majority of the recruits (12) were deployed at the College of Arts and Sciences to teach in the following departments: languages, computer science, social sciences, chemistry, and mathematics. Five have resumed their duties at the College of Industrial Technology while four are now handling tourism, economics, and accountancy subjects at the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy. Four new faculty members have also been recruited for the College of Health Sciences; 3, College of Engineering; and 1 each for the College of Agriculture and Forestry-University High School, College of Teacher Education, and College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology (CASAT).
Meanwhile, three elementary education graduates were also hired to handle the nursery and kindergarten programs opened this school year at the Batac campus. They were given “contract of service” appointment under the MMSU Foundation, Incorporated which operates the said programs. In addition, one faculty member of CASAT has just been awarded a temporary appointment.
Many of these new teachers are graduates of MMSU while some are alumni of the University of the Philippines System. Others graduated from the Baguio Colleges Foundation, Saint Louis University, AMA Computer College, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Divine Word College of Laoag.
