MMSU, through the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) of the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), conducted a printer troubleshooting and maintenance skills training for non-teaching personnel on October 16 at the CIT FlexiHub.

Titled “AYOS-PRINTER: Ayos, Alaga, at Abante!,” the activity primarily targeted 30 women and men non-teaching personnel of the university, including administrative aides, office assistants, clerical staff, and other office-based employees who regularly use printers in their daily work.

The training featured five modules: Kilalanin ang Printer, Alaga Printer, Ayos Printer, Print Smart, and Printer Clinic, facilitated by CIT faculty members, Dr. Aldous Asuncion, Dr. Bryan Joseph Hallar, Mr. Jackson Tangonan, and Mr. Aristotle Aaron Agpaoa.

Structured to progress from foundational knowledge to practical application, the five modules covered printer components and functions, preventive maintenance, systematic troubleshooting, connectivity, and software-related concerns. The training culminated in hands-on activities designed to reinforce participants’ understanding and application of the skills discussed.

The activity also promoted gender-responsive capability-building by providing women and men employees with equitable access to technical skills development, challenging gender stereotypes associated with equipment repair and maintenance.

Through practical training, the initiative sought to help personnel address common printer concerns, improve equipment maintenance, and reduce work delays and unnecessary repair costs, contributing to MMSU’s goal of building a more capable workforce and promoting efficient university operations under its SUCCEED Agenda.
