MMSU, DA–PhilRice launch rice paddy art project honoring Lt. Edgar Foz

Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), through the College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development (CAFSD)–Dingras Campus, and the Department of Agriculture–PhilRice Batac officially launched the MMSU–PhilRice Collaborative Rice Paddy Art Project on August 4 in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, honoring the legacy of the late Lt. Edgar Foz.
The initiative brought together MMSU, DA–PhilRice Batac, the Local Government Unit of Dingras, and other stakeholders in promoting agricultural innovation while commemorating the life and service of Lt. Foz through rice paddy art.
MMSU President Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr. said the project demonstrates how agriculture can serve as a platform for community engagement.
"This initiative reflects how agriculture extends beyond food production. Through collaboration and creativity, we can preserve stories that inspire future generations while promoting innovation and strengthening our connection with the communities we serve."
The program also featured a message from the family of Lt. Foz, who expressed their gratitude to MMSU, DA–PhilRice Batac, and the project's partners for honoring his life and service through the initiative.
