Officials of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) convened at the Center for Flexible Learning on March 18 for the university’s final management review under the ISO Quality Management System (QMS), as it transitions to the Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) this year.
Led by MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., alongside university vice presidents, deans, directors, and unit heads, the activity aimed to assess the performance and effectiveness of the institution’s management systems over the past year.
Dr. Manzano encouraged the administrator to make a thorough review of the management operations, noting that it helps determine whether the university’s targets and strategic aspirations have been met.
“We will assess what we have done and what we should have done, especially those that contribute to the betterment of the university, so we can adjust and recalibrate our goals moving forward in our SUCCEED agenda,” he said.
During the meeting, officials revisited the status of action plans from the previous management review and examined updates on internal and external issues reflected in the MMSU QMS Manual. Performance areas were also evaluated, including customer satisfaction and stakeholder feedback, institutional performance and service compliance, results of internal and external audits, and the performance of external providers.
The review also covered the adequacy of university resources, with presentations on the Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP), ongoing projects, and identified resource requirements. In addition, participants assessed the effectiveness of measures addressing risks and opportunities and proposed strategies to ensure the continual improvement of university systems and processes.
President Manzano expressed his appreciation to the university administrators for their collective efforts for a responsive management system.
He further encouraged the officials to sustain the conduct of management reviews as an integral part of MMSU’s culture of quality and excellence, especially as the university advances toward the adoption of EOMS.
