MMSU tourism and hospitality students complete Thai immersion

Eight tourism and hospitality management students of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) recently completed their short-term global immersion program and study tour in Thailand from February 3 to 9. 


The international program was organized by the Center for Experiential Learning (CEL) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. It provided interactive workshops and hands-on sessions on emerging technologies and management practices.
 

Participants included Maybel Agbunag, Andrea Stephanie Ricardo, Kathlyn Gayle Tagavilla, and El Jabez Vea of Tourism Management program, along with Aquila Grace Ubiรฑa, Kathleen Kate De Leon, Clark Ramos, and Denmark Abalos of Hospitality Management program.
 

Mr. Abalos shared that the experience is one for the books. He recalled their visit to industries centered on innovation and technology that challenged them to think more innovatively and broaden their perspective on how organizations can thrive in a changing world. 
 

โ€œThe program deepened my understanding of communication and business in an international context. Through this, I was also exposed to meaningful conversations and cultural experiences. This immersion strengthened my appreciation for innovation and taught me how to value diverse perspectives with respect and openness,โ€ he enthused. 
 

Lectures covered Thai language and culture, cross-cultural communication, agentic artificial intelligence for organizational innovation, leadership and management, consumer behavior in digital systems, business data analytics, and financial technology. (๐˜ž๐˜‰๐˜‰)
