DA equipment to power MMSU Dingras Campus farm
By Wimbledon Bosque
Department of Agriculture (DA) farm equipment is set to power the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Dingras Campus farm following its formal turnover by the DA–Ilocos Norte Research and Experiment Center (DA-INREC) on February 5, marking the operational rollout of support under the DA–Regional Field Office I Corn Banner Program.
The project certificate was formally handed over by DA-INREC Center Chief Medardo Pablo to MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr., Dr. Charlie Batin, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Sustainable Development (CAFSD), and Dr. Leo Inocencio, CAFSD Dingras Program Coordinator.
Funded under the Department of Agriculture’s Corn Banner Program, the donation includes one four-wheel tractor with complete accessories and two pump-and-engine sets, which will primarily support mechanized farming, research, and extension activities at the MMSU Dingras Campus.
DA-INREC, together with its Dingras Station, regularly extends agricultural machinery and equipment to farmers, cooperatives, and institutions to enhance productivity across the Ilocos Region. The turnover forms part of DA–RFO I’s broader initiative to modernize regional agriculture through mechanization and improved production inputs, with additional support eyed for MMSU’s Batac Campus.
