MMSU honors student excellence at Stallion Awards 2026

Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), through the University Student Council (USC), formally recognized the outstanding achievements of its students and organizations during the Stallion Awards 2026, an annual recognition program that celebrates excellence, leadership, and service across the university.
The prestigious awards ceremony highlighted the exemplary performance of student councils, academic organizations, interest clubs, campus publications, and individual students who brought pride to the institution through academic distinction, leadership, and national and international achievements.
Among the major organizational awards, the College of Teacher Education Student Council was hailed as Best Student Council, lauded for its consistent delivery of student-centered programs, transparent governance, and strong representation of student welfare. The Young Communicators’ Circle earned the title of Best Academic Organization for its dynamic initiatives that promoted excellence in communication and media literacy among its members. Meanwhile, the Taldiap Society was recognized as Best Interest Club, commended for its cultural advocacy and active promotion of heritage appreciation within and beyond the campus.
Several student organizations also received the Exemplary Award, conferred in recognition of their exceptional initiatives, innovative projects, and outstanding leadership that significantly contributed to campus development and community engagement throughout the academic year.
Academic excellence took center stage as MMSU proudly honored its topnotchers in various licensure examinations, whose remarkable performances underscored the university’s commitment to quality education. The awardees included Althea Joy Tabula (Top 3, ETLE), Chris Danielle Ignacio (Top 4, PTLE), Decster Baptista (Top 6, LEPT), Michaella Abiva and Jonathan Dave Ayala (both Top 7, LEPT), Joan Claire Carlos (Top 8, PNLE), Alford Airon Velasco (Top 9, CELE), Gerald Ibarra (Top 10, CELE), and Marc Ascen Dumaoal (Top 10, LEPT).
Excellence in campus journalism was also recognized, with The CTE Bulletin receiving multiple honors, including Best College-Based Student Publication, Best Online Publication, and Best Social Media Presence. James Ruzel Valiente, Editor-in-Chief of The CTE Bulletin, was named Most Outstanding Editor-in-Chief. Other publication awardees included The Edge of the College of Arts and Sciences as Best Print Publication, and The Blueprint of the College of Engineering as Most Improved Publication.
The ceremony acknowledged students and groups who earned accolades at the national and international levels, along with Student Organization Exemplary Awardees and Best Student Organization Awardees, recognizing sustained excellence throughout the academic year. Special citations were also conferred for initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and for achievements in campus journalism.
In his message, MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. underscored the significance of student leadership and excellence in advancing the university’s mission.
“The achievements we celebrate today are testaments to the hard work and collective spirit of our students,” Manzano said. “You have not only excelled in your respective fields but have also embodied the values of service, integrity, and leadership that define Mariano Marcos State University. May you continue to use your knowledge and influence to create meaningful impact in your communities and beyond,” he added.
Organized by the University Student Council, the Stallion Awards 2026 served as a formal platform to document and celebrate the institutional milestones achieved by the MMSU student body across various sectors, reaffirming the university’s commitment to nurturing competent, ethical, and socially responsible graduates.
