Sulu State College officials benchmark merit and promotion system of MMSU
Officials of Sulu State College (SSC) paid a courtesy visit to Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. on January 14 as part of their benchmarking activity aimed at learning the university’s merit and promotion system.
The delegation was led by SSC President Charisma Ututalum, together with Chief Administrative Officer and Personnel Selection Board (PSB) Chairperson Kaisar Sakiran, and Executive Assistant Krysha Samparani.
President Manzano expressed his support for their benchmarking initiative, affirming the university’s commitment to sharing its experiences to assist SSC in strengthening its own merit system.
Prof. Rex-Belli Alejandro, MMSU Faculty Association, Inc. (FAI) President, presented the key components of the university’s merit system, emphasizing personnel management systems and standards, public sector unionism, and other personnel actions. He also discussed the Merit Promotion Plan for faculty, including its general qualification guidelines for merit and point-based evaluation system.
Joining the discussion were MMSU Human Resources Management Director Gerard Ragudo and Learning and Development Chief Joyce Tolentino.
Through this benchmarking activity, the SSC delegates gained valuable insights into MMSU’s best practices, which are expected to contribute to the enhancement of SSC’s employee professional growth initiatives, course offerings, program standards, and overall institutional policies. (𝘚𝘊𝘐)
