PUP, MMSU ink MOU for joint academic and research programs

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) was formalized through a virtual ceremonial signing on November 24 at the FEM Hall Conference Room.
The MOU covers areas of collaboration in research; co-sponsorship of international conferences and academic exchange; student and faculty exchange and immersion programs; and the sharing of educational materials, research publications, and instructional information.
MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., represented by Dr. Aris Reynold Cajigal, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and PUP President Dr. Manuel Muhi led the virtual ceremonial signing. They were joined by Dr. Marlina Lino, Dean of MMSU - College of Arts and Sciences (CAS); Dr. Lourdes Alvarez, Dean of PUP - College of Science; Dr. James Paul Madigal, Director of MMSU - National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Center (NBERIC); and Dr. Alice Geraldine Pagaling, Chair of the MMSU Biological Sciences Department. Faculty members from both institutions also witnessed the ceremony.
Through Dr. Cajigal, President Manzano thanked PUP, noting that the partnership is an evidence of the MMSU’s commitment to collaborating with partner institutions here and abroad to advance quality education and conduct research activities that are impactful to the community and at par with international standards.
Similarly, PUP President Muhi thanked MMSU and emphasized their dedication to work with the university to provide quality education.
Dr. Lino and Dr. Alvarez expressed their excitement for the collaboration, highlighting its potential to create opportunities that will benefit the stakeholders of both institutions.
MMSU’s partnership with academic institutions like PUP strengthens the commitment of the university to building strong networks that enhance learning, research, and community involvement.
