The MMSU College of Teacher Education (CTE) rallied the community with its annual ‘RABBIyanihan’ event today, August 13, at the Laoag and Batac campuses to ensure vibrant and safe learning spaces.
The RABBIyanihan, combining "Rabbi" (teacher) and "Bayanihan" (Filipino communal unity), is an intensive clean-up drive aimed at preparing classrooms, offices, and school grounds for the upcoming academic year. The initiative will run until August 16.
During the opening program, Dr. Aris Reynold Cajigal, CTE dean, shared that the event is a “collective dedication to enhancing our learning environment.” He further emphasized that this initiative reflects MMSU’s continued commitment to creating a vibrant and secure environment for all members of the CTE community.
Various stakeholders, administrators, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, retirees, and officials and community members from Barangay 3 Nuestra Señora del Rosario and Barangay 5 San Pedro were present at the event.
Meanwhile, volunteers and officials from the Philippine National Police Batac, Coast Guard Ilocos Norte, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Batac, Department of Public Works and Highways Ilocos Norte 2nd District Engineering Office, Barangays Caunayan and Quilling Sur, Team Batac Riders Association, Inc., Parent-Teacher Association and Alumni Association, and members of the Local Government Unit of Batac joined the RABBIyanihan in the Laboratory High School Batac campus.
The CTE-based Center for Inclusive Early Childhood Education has also conducted the RABBIyanihang Bulilit for the preschool classes, which includes an orientation for parents about the center, a clean-up drive, and an open house on August 14 and 15.
