MMSU, Indonesian univ hold virtual exchange program

To intensify its faculty and student mobility, the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) undertook a virtual academic exchange program with a reputable university in Indonesia.

Faculty members from MMSU College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy (CBEA) and the Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) implemented a lecture series on strategic management, business ethics, corporate governance, and social responsibility from March 26 to May 6.

Lecturers from MMSU were Dr. Analyn A. Hermoso, Dr. Margarita G. Hilario, Prof. Carmela G. Adriatico, and Ms. Krismary Sharmaine D. Yapo.

Meanwhile, lecturers from UNIPMA Economics and Management Department were Dr. Aglis Andhita Hatmawan, Prof. Karuniawati Hasana, Prof. Prima Utama Wardoyo Putro, and Prof. Putri Oktovita Sari.

A total of 116 students from MMSU and 84 from UNIPMA participated in the six-week lecture series.

Dr. Angelina Abrojena, CBEA dean, said the lecture series enabled the faculty and students to broaden their business management competencies and cross-cultural understanding.

She added the college will also avail the international credit transfer program (ICTP) by next semester to improve its curriculum and to sustain students’ program mobility. The ICTP is currently being joined by the MMSU College of Teacher Education.

Since last year, MMSU has participated in international academic exchange programs with foreign universities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Mee Jay Domingo, director for MMSU external linkages and partnerships, said the exchange program seeks to share faculty’s expertise with foreign universities, gain new knowledge and practices, and continue build stature in the global academic scene. – Daniel P. Tapaoan, Jr. (StratCom)
