As part of the 105th Founding Anniversary of Currimao, the Mariano Marcos State University โ€“ College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology (MMSU-CASAT) joined the tree planting and coastal clean-up drive organized by the local government unit at the Pangil Rock Formation on January 20.

Gathering representatives from various government agencies and institutions in the whole municipality, the activity promotes environmental protection and community involvement by encouraging participating institutions to take part in tree growing and coastal clean-up efforts, which reinforce shared responsibility in conserving natural resources and protecting the municipalityโ€™s coastal areas.

OIC-Dean Pilar Carolyn Pascual emphasized that this involvement shows the collegeโ€™s continuing commitment to environmental stewardship and public service. She noted that activities like these allow the academic community to take an active role in protecting coastal and marine ecosystems while strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders.

In line with this, the activity supports the SUCCEED Agenda of MMSU President Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr., particularly in advancing community service, responsible resource management, and environmental sustainability.
Through its participation, CASAT contributed to the Universityโ€™s broader thrust of linking academic expertise with concrete community-based initiatives.
