MMSU marketing students clinch awards at int’l business case tilt

Business Administration major in Marketing Management students of Mariano Marcos State University- College of Business, Economics and Accountancy (MMSU-CBEA), garnered awards at the 4th International Business Case Competition (IBCC) held on November 19.
The competition, organized by the Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (UST), Indonesia, as part of its International Management Week celebration, was joined by participants from universities across the globe.
Team 𝘜𝘬𝘪𝘵-𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘢, one of the teams representing MMSU, was hailed champion in the paper analysis, defense, and presentation categories, becoming the overall best business case analysis. Composed of marketing management majors Angelica Rose Tabisola, Daniel Angelo Rondolos, and Allyza Pahinag, the team delivered the strongest solutions and recommendations for the assigned case study.
Meanwhile, Team 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢, composed of Junard Olindang, Joanna Marie Matterig, and Raphaella Gwyneth Castro from the same program, received the Special Award for Best Paper Analysis for the same case study.
Another MMSU team composed of Alynna Charlote Domingo, Jannah Marice Alejandro, and Hazel Comador, also advanced through the preliminary round of the competition.
All teams were guided by BSBA Marketing Management instructor Jennifer Sia, who expressed pride in their performance. “Their dedication, discipline, and creativity truly showed, and this international recognition speaks to the hard work they invested,” she said.
The participating teams presented business cases on DEKAYU, a Yogyakarta-based enterprise specializing in wooden crafts and gifts. Aligned with the theme, “Navigating Uncertainty: Business Solutions for a Changing World,” their presentations outlined the company’s background, challenges, opportunities, and recommendations for growth. These included an international expansion strategy, brand positioning model, balanced market penetration plan, and branding and storytelling approach.
Through these achievements, MMSU’s business administration students not only delivered impactful solutions to business challenges but also advanced MMSU toward the international stage through quality education.
