MMSU cited for excellent performance in CMA exam

Proving to be among the country’s best, MMSU was awarded recently by Insights Financial Review Services, Inc. in recognition of the university’s constant pursuit of academic excellence.
This was manifested by the 14 MMSU graduates who hurdled the September and October 2017 Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Examination with a rating of 77.78 percent against the 49 percent global success rate.
MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis and Dr. Angelina B. Abrojena, dean of the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy, attended the awarding ceremony at the Manila Hotel held on December 23.
The CMA examination is a two-part professional certification credential in the management accounting and financial management fields.  It is a US-based, globally recognized certification offered by the Institute of Management Accountants.
“The academic preparation of the graduates and their review for six months were the factors that led to this stellar performance,” Dr. Abrojena said.
In 2016, four MMSU graduates also passed the CMA examination.
Aside from MMSU, other schools that were recognized include University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University in Dasmariñas and Lipa, Ateneo de Davao and Zamboanga University, Lyceum of the Philippines University in Cavite, San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite, Chiang Kai Shek College, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, among others.
Insights Financial Review Services is a professional review course provider that seeks to become a key partner in the development of Filipino accountants and finance professionals in making them globally competitive.
