Center Objectives/Goals

The Center aims to enhance the resilience of the agriculture sector to climatic variability and climate change through development and application of improved production and risk management technologies.

Specifically, the center will be responsible to carry-out the following:

  1. Conduct climate change researches toward better understanding of the climate change impacts;
  2. Develop decision support system toward improving farm productivity and governance, and 
other S&T programs to address climate change impacts;
  3. Provide special skills training to various stakeholders to strengthen the region’s capability in 
responding to the challenges of the changing climate;
  4. Demonstrate site specific technology packages on farmers’ fields for adapting to current climate risks;
  5. Establish a climate information systems that will provide up-to-date weather forecast and advisories to farmers and policy makers
  6. Transform communities adaptable to climate variability and climate change
