Office of the Dean

     Dr. Artemio B. Alcoy is at present the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development. He holds the position Professor V of the Department of Agricultural Sciences and teaches Crop Science subjects both in the graduate and undergraduate levels. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agronomy and minor in Soil Science in 1976 from the then Mariano Marcos Memorial College of Science and Technology now MMSU. He obtained his masteral degree in Tropical Agronomy from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia under the Colombo Plan Scholarship in 1983. He finished hi Ph.D. in Agronomy with cognate course in Development Management from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos, Laguna in 1992.

     While working in the University, he was designated to various administrative positions: as Director for University Extension Services in 1993-1995; Director of MMSU Dingras Campus in 1995-1998. He also served as Chairman of the Department of Crop Management and Program Coordinator of the graduate programs in Agriculture from 2001 to 2007. He also served as the Coordinator of the Board Review for Agriculture in 2008-2011. He is actively involved in research and presently the Team Leader for root crops commodity in the University. He serves as resource speaker in extension programs for varoius clientele. He was elected officer of the MMSU Federated Alumni Association in 2010 and Board of Director of the CAFSD Alumni Association from 2011 to present.
